Montenegrin regulator EKIP (Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services) has announced that it plans to hold an auction for 5G-ready spectrum in December.

Technology-neutral licences will be available for spectrum in the 900MHz, 1800MHz, 2GHz and 2.6GHz bands, with bids to be accepted between 1st and 24th December 2021. CommsUpdate reports that the permits will be valid until 1st September 2031.

EKIP confirmed that the auction will consist of a multi-round clock phase as well as a single round of sealed bids. Parties wishing to bid must have at least five years of experience in operating networks and providing public electronic communications services.
